NLUC Strategy

NLUC's vision of linguistic engineering for the 21st century

The need and potential for growth in the use of natural language in the man-machine interface is unquestionable. NLUC provides state of the art solutions designed to make your software as simple to use as possible. Here is a short overview of the different linguistic technologies that NLUC is working on, at various stages of completion.

Natural language technology

The computer revolution of the third millennium will give rise to a new relationship between man and technologically advanced tools: the keystone to such an advance will be the intelligent elaboration and understanding of everyday language by computers.

Such technologies will not only turn upside down traditional uses for the personal computer, such as Internet navigation or word processing: they will finally make computers accessible to 90% of the people who currently do not use them, and boost the distribution of technologically sophisticated products on the mass market.

In the words of Bill Gates: “Natural language, whether it's typing in sentences, or speech recognition is destined to play a very central role in the operating system and the applications in the future... We can make computers that are more powerful and yet simple enough to respond to plain English commands.”

We at NLUC think that growth in this area should not be limited to just the English-speaking world, and we have positioned ourselves in order to help customers integrate our natural language technologies with their own applications.

By merging high-tech components with linguistic know-how, NLUC technology provides a linguistic platform for the most widely spoken European languages. It is an adaptable, general-purpose tool, that can improve existing systems (like speech recognition and information search in Internet), or become part of completely innovative solutions.

NLUC is working on the implementation of natural language technologies in the following fields of application
